AGE DIVERSITY IN COMPANIES
Knowledge Transfer. Intergenerational Corporation, Demographic Challenges.
On 16 October 2019 we organised a convention on demographic change at the Hotel Savoyen in Vienna. At that time we had two highly successful years to look back on:
100
consultants
8.600
informed companies
1.500
advised companies
340.000
employees reached
OUR GOAL:
Knowledge transfer.
Intergenerational cooperation.
Demographic challenges.

Change happens when people come together: Demographic Consulting’s convention was the place to exchange ideas, to meet others and to find solutions together.
We want to promote employability, recognise demographic change and use its potential to our advantage over the long term.
“All of us participating have many years’ varied experience in designing work for older colleagues and multigenerational management. And many of us have contributed to the development and implementation of tools and projects in this regard.”
– Programme manager Alexandra Weilhartner in her opening address

Panel discussion
The panellists came from the Federal Ministry for Labour, Social Affairs, Health and Consumer Protection, the Austrian Economic Chambers, the Austrian Chamber of Labour, the Austrian Trade Union Federation and ISS Austria. The topics discussed were: workplace design, changing working environments, digitalisation, securing fitness for work.
“Elephants are known to become very old and very wise. The OLD stay in the herd with the young. When water becomes scarce, the OLD will remember more watering holes than the YOUNG. When they find water, the calves are allowed to quench their thirst first. The pace is such that older elephants can keep up with the younger animals. When an elephant comes to the end of its life, the herd will stay with it during its final moments.”
Thank you to Dr Rosemarie Kurz for this fitting parable.
